Birth and Baptism

Baptism Edward Nash Collins 5 April 1857 Certs img104 75

Shortly before Edwards death on 5th September 1932 somebody in the family decided to get a copy of his Baptism record. The copy above was duly certified on 9th April 1932.

From the above document it is evident that Edward Nash Collins was born on 6th February 1857 (Friday) to Thomas and Elizabeth Collins of Lower Bevois Street, and that Thomas was recorded as being a Labourer.

When Edward was 59 days old, on 5th April 1857 (Sunday), he was Baptised in the Parish of St Mary's Southampton, in the County of Southampton, which is now known as the county of Hampshire.
